O you who have faith! When the call is made for prayer on Friday, hurry toward the remembrance of God, and leave all business. That is better for you, should you know.

وَلِتُكَبِّرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا هَدَىٰكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
…and so that you magnify Allah for guiding you, and that you may give thanks
Join us for the ʿĪd Prayer, the two ʿĪd Sermons, and brunch with the community as we have a celebration for the end of Ramadan and we offer prayers of thanks to God for the blessings and opportunities the days and nights of Ramaḍān provided us.
Zakāt al-Fiṭrah is required for all mature adults who have or make the means for their annual needs. It is also required for them to pay on behalf of their dependents. It should be paid before the prayer for those at the prayer; if you are not attending an ʿĪd prayer then it is required to pay before the time for Noon (Ẓuhr) Prayer.
The amount is $15.00 (minimum) per person (individual and all dependents in their household) who has the means. Please distinguish a Sayyid giver from a non-Sayyid giver on an envelope so we may distribute it correctly.
If you do not bring cash, please zelle us at info@sacredrootscommunity.org and put zakat al-fitrah [sayyid/non-sayyid] in the memo.

Sacred Roots Student Collective: Chai Chat - Spirituality as an Act of Defiance
The Sacred Roots Student Collective invites the community to a Chai Chat on February 27th at 6 PM starting with Dua Kumayl!
In a world that often pressures us to conform and disconnect from our roots, choosing to embrace spirituality can be a powerful act of resistance. As we look to our history and value-based movements we see how faith can be a powerful tool and driver for community building and a catalyst for change. Together, we’ll reflect on how reconnecting with our spiritual selves can inspire change, challenge the status quo, and honor a legacy of speaking truth to power. Come share your thoughts, sip some chai, and engage in a meaningful conversation about faith, identity, and activism.
Please use the RSVP Form below to let us know you're coming!
Topic this week:
Economic Resistance
What does our soul have to do with the dollar bill? We will reflect on what our pre-conceived notions about wealth are and then explore what Islamic priorities we have been given, before then brainstorming how we can practically carry out Islamic economic priorities as producers and consumers.
