Join us for a refresher of the foundational guidelines that make for a successful spiritual journey during the month of Ramadan

We are honored to have Shaykh Rizwan Arastu join us.

He will present an overview of the rules of devotional law (fiqh) related to fasting the month of Ramadan. These rules make up the cornerstone upon which is built a full Ramadan experience.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ

O you who have faith! Prescribed for you is fasting as it was prescribed for those who were before you, so that you may be Godwary.

Shaykh Rizwan Arastu is a graduate of the Islamic Seminary of Qum and Princeton University. He is the founding director of the Islamic Texts Institute, a non-profit aimed at making Islamic sources accessible to non-specialists. He is also the founder of Islamic-Literacy.org, a web-based educational platform that aims to help all Muslims become Islamically literate. He lives with his wife and six children in Elgin, IL.
