The Prayer of Kumayl: A Prayer for Forgiveness | English Recitation and Community Gathering 11-17

The Prayer of Kumayl is attributed to Imam Ali (‘a) as taught to his disciple Kumayl ibn Ziyad al-Nakha’i.

The prayer paints a picture of God’s Majesty and inspires the reader to seek God’s immeasurable mercy and to live a life in humility before the Divine.


We invite you to join us in person for an English engagement with Duʿāʾ Kumayl on the first and third Thursdays of each month at Sacred Roots.

After reading the prayer in English we make space for community members to reflect on their favourite lines of the prayer, the role The Prayer of Kumayl plays in their life, or another related theme. Sign-up here to offer a reflection
